He is survived by his wife, Beatriz C. Pinera; sons, Oscar Pinera (Melvon), Elicio Pinera; daughters, Aida Horikawa (Bert), Aurelia "Elsa" Gamponia (Robby); sister, Francisco Petinez; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
