Obituary

Charles Carlito (Carling, Calitoy) Roylo of Mililani, Hawaii, passed away at home among family on April 1, 2020, after an extended illness.

Charles was born in Ewa, Hawaii on 2/16/1941 and raised in Kunia, HI.

Survived by son Christian Carling Roylo (Danielle W.L.) of Cranberry Township, PA. and daughter Heather Elizabeth Roylo of Pittsburgh, PA.  Ex-wife Maryann Szobody Roylo of Cranberry Township, PA. Grandchildren Mira, Kai and Kian. Half-sister Annie Bailado of Kailua-Kona, HI. Nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents Irineo Roylo and Columba (Hacoba) Compacion Roylo, sister Agnesia Roylo-Ching, brothers Peter, Louis and Frank Roylo, half-brothers Jose Cole, William Rodrigues, Pancho Losano and Constatin Bunghanoy. Half-sister Maria Yambaw.

Charles was an Army veteran and retired from the State of Hawaii Executive Office on Aging and from Mililani Memorial Park.

He graduated from Leilehua High School and the University of Hawaii, Manoa; he received a Masters of Public Administration from Central Michigan University.

Charles was a talented singer/songwriter and musician.  He was a member of the church choir at St. John the Apostle and Evangelist Church in Mililani.

He was a prolific artist of impressionism-style paintings.

A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at a future time.
