Dolores was a dialysis patient at the DSI Pearlridge at Pearlridge Center and Liberty Dialysis Hawaii in Salt Lake clinics where she formed many friendships. She was also a patient of Kaiser Permanente and always enjoyed periodic check ups where she could talk story and bring butter mochi to the doctors and staff.
She had many creative passions. Working with silk flowers and making fabulous arrangements. Then there were many hours spent crocheting blankets. In her later years, her love of sewing shined through. Whether it be sewing curtains, pillows or patchwork blankets. Many family and friends still have one or all of these cherished creations.
Not to be forgotten was her love of cooking. And she enjoyed sharing this love every year at her New Year's Day parties. Some of the favorites were the teri-burgers, chicken long rice, potato leaf salad, pork gisantes, sari sari, dinuguan and chicken luau.
She also liked to travel. There were many trips to Vegas because Joe loved to gamble. But mostly just visiting family in Seattle, Anchorage, Portland and Boston.
These passions for travel, art and cooking are shared by all her children.
Dolores retired from a career in the hospitality industry, starting as a maid then moving up the ladder to Executive Housekeeper. She worked at The Plaza Hotel, Sheraton Makaha, Sheraton Waikiki, and Kuhio Palms. Again, forming many lasting friendships.
