He is survived by wife, Kathleen K. Shimata; sons, Russell Shimata, Daniel (Lori) Shimata; daughter, Melanie Stowell; brother, Charles (June) Shimata; sisters, Alice Okouchi, Betsy (Fred) Tominaga, Mary Louise (Joe) Sueoka, Diane (Robert) Nishimura; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
