Jonathan Amas Obituary

Jonathan A. Amas was born to Larry and Dolores Amas on February 21,1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii and passed away on May 17, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Jonathan will be deeply missed and remembered with love and affection by many: His wife - DeeAnne Imes-Amas; Mother - Dolores Amas; Siblings - Jeffrey, Jerrick, Jordan & Jason Amas; Jennifer Lloyd & Jernelle Mendonca. He was the eldest of 7 brother and sisters whom he adored. He graduated from the University of Hawaii in 1978 with his BA in Psychology and proudly served
his country in the Army National Guard. He met the love of his life, DeeAnne, and have been married for 36 years. Jonathan happily retired from the Star Advertiser after 44 years of dedicated service. Some of his favorite pastimes were: Fishing, diving, playing piano, reading, playing with his animals, spending quality time with family and friends shooting darts, playing pool and cooking out. Jonathans family are thankful for many incredible memories of him that will be treasured and cherished forever.

Services will be held on October 23, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Poka’i Bay in Wai’anae, Hawaii where his ashes will be released into the ocean. Fellowship to follow.
