Juanita Cabilan, of Waipahu passed away on May 22, 2021 in Manhattan, Kansas where she lived with her daughter since October 2017. Juanita was born in Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, Philippines on May 14, 1931. She married Marcelino Cabilan of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur in June of 1956 and moved to Oahu in November of 1956. She retired from Public Works at Pearl Harbor with 25 years of federal service. A longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church in Waipahu and their Filipino Catholic Club. She enjoyed the company of friends and family traveling to Europe, Canada, and road trips across the USA. An avid seamstress, she sewed garments for friends and family and for a couple weddings. She enjoyed tending to her garden of flowers, fruits and vegetables at her Waipahu home. Juanita’s remains will be laid to rest next to her late husband Marcelino Cabilan and her late son Robert Cabilan in Mililani Mortuary Park.
Juanita is survived by daughter Evelyn (Jeff); 8 Grandchildren: “Kalani” (Melissa), Jennifer (Lafayette), Krystin, Victor, Sarah, Vanessa, Erika Jean, and Marcel; 8 Great-Grandchildren; Sisters Melicia and Aniceta (Pedong); and numerous nieces and nephews.
