Lydia Meneses Ildefonso passed away in Waipahu, Hawaii on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the age of 86.
Lydia was born on August 3, 1935 in Lingayen, Pangasinan, in the Phillipines.
Preceded in death by her parents, Feliciana Dela Cruz and Isidoro Meneses.
Youngest of six other siblings; Narcissa, Isidro, Antonia, Vicente, Pedro, and Eliza.
Widow of Esteban Ildefonso whom she married in 1965 in Lingayen.
Survived by her children Cris Ildefonso, Raymond Ildefonso, and Sandra Billington. She is also survived by her grandchildren Crishelle, Dax, Riley, and Star; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.Lydia graduated from the Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades in 1964. She emigrated from the Philippines to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1969 along with her husband. She was a seamstress for a local textile company, “Alfred Shaheen”, that was known for popularizing the aloha shirt. She eventually worked at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki as a housekeeper for 32 years and retired in 2014. It was at the Hilton where she made many lifelong friends and enjoyed meeting people from all over the world.
Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, and watching her soap operas Guiding Light and The Young and the Restless.
