Margaret Shinsato, 92
Margaret peacefully went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2023, in Kahului, Maui.
Margaret grew up in Kalihi and graduated from Farrington High School. She was thoughtful and meticulous in everything she did. She enjoyed crocheting, writing beautiful cursive letters to family and friends, playing hanafuda, and memorizing two letter words in the Scrabble dictionary.
Margaret had an unwavering faith to the Lord through all circumstances. She and her husband loved reading the Bible, visiting people in need of prayer, and telling others about how Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Until the very end, Margaret never forgot her love for the Lord and her son, “Danny.”
She is survived by her son, Dennis Shinsato, granddaughters, Cara (Cummins) Chong-Kee and Lori Shinsato, two great grandchildren, C.J. and Camy Chong-Kee, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kooen Ronald Shinsato, and two daughters, Gail Shinsato and Jean Werner.
The family would like to thank Hospice Maui and Kaiser Permanente for their care. The family is especially grateful to Clariza and the entire Rabanes family for welcoming “grandma” into their home.
Public service will be held at Mililani Memorial Park Makai Chapel on Monday, July 24, 2023. Visitation begins at 9:00am. Service begins at 10:00am. Burial to follow at 11:30am.
