Our dearest mother, Maxima (Max or Maxine) Looney, sadly passed away on 17Oct'23, at the age of 93, enjoying a very long and wonderful life. She was a super terrific mother who was always there when we needed her. She is very much loved and will be missed terribly. She also had many friends from her previous employment with Pan American World Airways, sewing instructor for Singer Hawaii (Pearlridge Shopping Center), and sales person with Islands Best (Ala Moana Center); and a well-loved member of St John Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church in Mililani, Hawaii.
She was predeceased by her husband Harold Looney and is survived by sons Elmer & Curtis, and daughter Tracey Takaki. AND 6 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Children: Elmer (Abby), Curtis (Laura), Tracey Takaki (Sterling Kawahakui)
Grandchildren: Leimomi (John) Cleghorn, Prescott (Jennie), Briana (Kris) Kawamoto, Ashley, Hanna, Faith.
Great-grandchildren: Ikaika, Alysia, Matthew, Ku‘uleiokalani, Nathan, Keola, Alia, Oliver (predeceased: Adrian & Alyx)
Great-great-grandchildren: Kamakana, ‘Onipa‘a, (predeceased: Melia)
A memorial service will be held at St John's Apostle & Evangelist Catholic Church in Mililani on Thursday, 7th Dec'23, 9:30-10:30am viewing, 10:30-11:00am Eulogy, and 11:00-Noon Catholic Mass.
A second memorial service and inurnment (with our dad) will be held at St Benedict's Catholic Church (aka St. Benedict's Painted Church), South Kona, Big Island of Hawaii. The Kona service is planned on Saturday, 11th May'24 (same time schedule), and concluding with inurnment with dad. Please, no flowers, mahalo.
