Natividad Genobia Obituary

Natividad “Naty” Genobia, 90 of Kula Hawaiʻi, passed away on August 18, 2021. She was born on Lanaʻi and raised in Paia, Maui, Hawaiʻi.

Naty has graced the hearts and minds of her family and friends with her resilience, humility, and tremendous faith in God. She attended Holy Rosary School and St. Anthony School. As one of the older siblings, she left school to help her family in raising her younger siblings. She married Fortunato Genobia and moved to Honolulu, where they raised five children. Naty enjoyed her time and friendships while employed at Imperial Hawaiʻi Resort as a housekeeper supervisor, and upon retirement, she and Fortunato returned to their beloved Maui. She was an avid reader, a keeper of family stories, and enjoyed her time spending countless hours in her yard with her beautiful plants and flowers. Naty was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who will always be remembered for her love, kindness, and wonderful sense of humor. She was predeceased by her husband of 69 years, Fortunato Genobia, son Philip Genobia, parents Laurencio and Damasa Cagasan, brothers Sozimo, Elisio, Gorgonio, and Andrew Cagasan; sisters Juana Cagasan, Ramona Pencerga, Dorothy Pellezar, and Lourdes Ueda. She is survived by son Lawrence Genobia (Tammy), daughters Delphine Martinez (Heliodoro, predeceased), Donna Genobia (Kalani), Dorene Genobia, (Tallet), 13 grandchildren, 22 great children, and 4 great-great grandchildren, brother George Cagasan, sister Benedicta Flores, and many nieces and nephews. A fond mahalo nui loa to Kula Hospital, 3rd floor Nurses and Activity Floor Nurses, and Hospice Maui, Nurse Colleen and Social Worker AJ for taking care of our precious mom and grandmother, Naty.
