Robert Ane Obituary

Robert Meli Ane, known affectionately as Bobby to his friends and loved ones, was a beacon of joy and a pillar of strength in the village he so dearly cherished. Born on July 16, 1950, in the beautiful city of Honolulu, Hawaii, Bob lived a vibrant life until his peaceful passing on March 7, 2024, in the same city that witnessed his first breath. Bob's journey through life was marked by the warmth of his laughter, the strength of his hands, and the boundless love he had for his family. He shared 73 remarkable years with those who were lucky enough to know him, including his beloved wife Georgette (Cookie) and his adoring daughter, Kaleolani. Bob's legacy continues through his grandsons, La'akea and Micah. Bob was a proud graduate of Kaimuki High Class of 1968, and he furthered his education at Santa Ana College, where he honed the skills that would serve him throughout his life. His professional journey as a heavy equipment operator spanned a remarkable 40 years. During this time, Bob's work ethic and dedication were as unwavering as the very machines he operated, and his influence on the industry was profound. He was not just a man who worked with his hands; he was a man who worked with his heart. Life was an adventure for Bob, and he pursued his interests with the same zest and commitment he gave to his work and family. His passions were as diverse as they were engaging. From the thrill of drag racing to the tranquility of boating, from the focus required for fishing to the wind on his bald head while riding his Harley trike, Bob embraced every moment with gusto. He found solace in working on old Chevys, excitement in jet skiing, and joy in cooking. He was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys, riding the highs and lows with the fervor of a true supporter.

Bob was the epitome of a life-loving, funny, and handy man. His hands, which could fix almost anything, were a testament to his belief that with effort and determination (and duct tape), one could repair anything. His sense of humor was a gift that he shared freely, bringing light to even the darkest of days. His love was a sanctuary for those who knew him, providing comfort and security in an ever-changing world. Let us remember Bob not for the finality of his journey but for the countless moments of joy and laughter he brought into our lives. He was a man who saw life not as a series of obstacles but as a playground of possibilities. Bob's story is a reminder that the essence of life is not in the number of breaths we take, but in the moments that take our breath away. Today, as we reflect on Bob's life, let us carry forward the lessons he embodied so gracefully. Let us find strength in our own hands to build and create, let us share laughter to brighten the lives around us, and let us love with the depth and devotion, no nonsense, that Bob showed us all. His spirit, a guiding light, continues to inspire us to live fully, love deeply, and embrace every adventure that life has to offer. Robert "Bob" Meli Ane's legacy is not one of sadness but one of inspiration. His life was lived to the fullest, and he leaves behind a trail of memories that will continue to motivate and uplift everyone who was fortunate enough to cross his path. Let us celebrate Bob, a man who taught us that life is a beautiful journey that should always be traveled with love and laughter in our hearts.
