Alejo Salasac Layus (March 8, 1936–May 20, 2026)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alejo Salasac Layus, who departed this life peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Alejo was born on March 8, 1936, in Batac, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, to Severino and Maxima Layus.
Alejo was a dedicated husband to Florida, his loving wife of 60 years, and a devoted father to Nenita, Jocelyn and Alexander. He was a proud grandfather to 7 grandchildren, Sharlene Ann, Justin Allen, Andrew Zimon, Joeven Max, Xandee Raphael, Lanz Angelo, and Zyrus Zane. And he was a caring great grandfather to 3 great grandchildren Zechariah Ezekiel Kaikena, Jesiah Praise No'eau, and Henry Israel.
Alejo’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. A wake service will be held at Mililani Memorial - Mauka Chapel on July 15, 2026 at 6:30 P.M. and funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Church, Waipahu on July 16, 2026, at 10:30 A.M. and burial will be on Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary at 12:30 P.M.
