My Aunty Alice was such a kind and loving person. I treasure the fond memories I have of her. During my visits to Oahu where I stayed with my uncle and Aunty, I remember her smiling face and gentle spirit always welcoming me in their home. Though my visits were usually short, we shared good times together preparing breakfast each morning and talking stories covering all kinds of topics many times with amusement and laughter. It was a joy being in their company and feeling the warmth of being in their home.My earliest memories of Aunty Alice was the time she was planning her wedding. I was asked to be her junior bridesmaid at the age of 16. I was so happy and excited for both my uncle and Alice that they were going to be married. Their wedding was truly special because my uncle had found someone he deeply loved and cared for...and I could see why by her kind nature and caring heart. The last time I saw my Aunty Alice was in December of 2018. She was on the inter-island cruise and when the ship made its stop in Hilo, we took her to see the lava flow at Leilani Estates at her request. She was so amazed at how huge the lava was and how it flowed for miles and miles. We later dined at Star Restaurant for lunch , a Chinese buffet restaurant in Hilo, where my sister folks and my cousin Amy who was visiting at the time joined us for lunch. Aunty Alice was happy to have all of us together sharing a meal and catching up on things.Lastly, it was about 8 years ago when Aunty Alice shared with me that she became a believer in Christ. I was overjoyed to hear the good news! I assured her that it was one of the best decisions she made in her life andwill never regret it.We will miss you Aunty Alice! Thank you for everything! We find comfort and peace in knowing that you will be spending eternity with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
