Joannie, thank you for sharing such a nice memory. She was such a firecracker ! She always made me laugh too!
Alice will be missed. She was my favorite person to share my daily events with. I used to bring dinner over and we would eat together. She had a healthy appetite when we ate and laughed together. She was a a fantastic gardener, animal lover, and such a wise woman. I cherish the time I was able to spend with her. For her 91st birthday, I brought her to Restaurant 604 in Aiea. It was packed that Friday night and Trishnalei was performing. We asked the gal, who was sitting by herself if we could join her, she was kind of enough to say yes. We sat with Marana, ordered food, and enjoyed ourselves. We found out that Trishnalei was Marana’s sister. Trishnalei sang happy birthday to Alice. The room which was filled with so many people sang and came up to her and wished her a happy birthday. She had an absolute blast and she was so happy! She had a beer with her meal and she laughed and enjoyed her evening. I’m glad I was able to share her special day with so many people that were so loving and kind to her. She was like a movie star that night. I used to tell Alice, when I grow up, I wanna be like you. She lived a full life and was very much loved. When I grow up, I wanna be like Alice. 😊I will cherish the good times and the miss the meals we shared together. She’s taught me so much about life, gardening, and love for her animals.
