Alvin H. Emperado, 73, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed away on November 21, 2024. He was born on March 16, 1951 in Hawaii.
He is survived by daughter, Maria Flores, son in-law, Matthew Flores; brother, Arthur (Cindy) Emperado; sister, Georgianna (Jack) Vaugh; grandchildren, Cassandra Barrera, Ashley Gonzales, Daniel Barrera, Jr., Jackson Flores, Makayla Flores; great grandchildren, Elyssa Gonzales, Avery Gonzales; step brother, Clarence Luna.
-Kajukenbo Emperado Bloodline-
Alvin is the second son but third born of Sijo Adriano D. Emperado.
Alvin started his Martial Arts training under his father at the age of 7 in 1958 along with his brothers. His youngest brother Ata was his favorite UKE.
For several years, Alvin paused his Martial Arts training to enjoy his passion for surfing at Diamond Head.
After Alvin returned from serving in the Navy on the USS Rathburne. Alvin decided to start his Kajukenbo training again after a long heart to heart conversation with his father Sijo Adriano D. Emperado.
Kajukenbo Certifications On Hand With Belts:
On April 15, 1975.
Alvin received a diploma of certification as Instructor of Kenpo-Karate.
Promoted by: Sijo Adriano D Emperado.
On June 12, 1998.
Alvin received certification and Promoted to Sifu 5th degree Black Belt w/ Red Trim in the Kajukenbo Self Defense System

On June 15, 2002.
Alvin received certification and Promoted to Sigung 6th degree Red w/ White (Candy stripe belt) in the Kajukenbo Self Defense System

Inurnment will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Punchbowl, 2:00 pm.
