Angel Richard Elefante, Jr.'s Obituary
Angel Elefante, Jr. Obituary
Angel Richard Elefante Jr . of Aiea , HI, age 68, was called home by our Lord on March 14, 2020 after a long illness. He was born on April 17, 1951, the son of the late Angel Richard Elefante, Sr. and Florenda Ganir Ganotise Elefante. Angel graduated Aiea High School in 1969 and attended Leeward Community College and University of Hawaii Manoa majoring in Political Science. While in college, he worked various jobs to fund his education. Some of his employers were Lappert’s Ice Cream Company in the Hilton Hawaiian Village and the Maurice Sullivan/Foodland Company where he eventually joined their management team. After getting certified as a bartender, he moved to Los Angeles and then to Las Vegas where he lived for at least ten years. In Las Vegas, he bartended and worked as a Table Games Dealer. He eventually returned to Hawaii and bartended at many Oahu restaurants- Fishmonger’s Wife in Ala Moana , Matteo’s Italian Restaurant in Waikiki and Assagio’s Ala Moana. He also worked as security personnel for Zanzabar Nighclub in Waikiki.
Angel was intelligent, witty, funny, generous, sociable and a caring person. To his family, he was loving, supportive and caring to his mom and sister, providing support when he lost his father at the age of seventeen. He has many friends in Hawaii and on the mainland. When mainland friends visit Hawaii, they make it a point to get together with him. As a bartender, he counseled, listened and entertained his many customers. They could always count on his loyalty, honesty and friendship. Some of them became his extended family. He had a singing talent, and as a teen had a band that played various venues and parties. In his later years, he would pitch in and sing when he was asked. His hobbies are golfing and occasionally singing and playing the guitar. Any opportunity he had was dedicated to meeting his friends and golfing.
He is dearly missed by his sister, Valerie Elefante, nephews Courtney ( Fran) Bareng , Kennedy Bareng, grandniece Ariyana, various uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. On April 13, 2020, a private funeral service was held at Mililani Mauka Mortuary. Once covid19 restrictions are lifted, a Celebration of Life will be held. Private burial will be held at Hawaiian Memorial Park.
