Angelina Busto Obituary
Angelina “Lina” Garingan Busto was a caring sister, loving aunt & grand-aunt, and loyal friend. After a courageous fight against cancer, she left this world on October 28, 2023 at the age of 82.
She was born in Bayombong, Nueva Viscaya to Alejandro A. Garingan and Lucena P. Cabanos on July 1, 1941. After graduating from Bacarra High School in Illocos Norte, Lina went on to study nursing at Santa Rita School of Nursing then studied Psychology at Centro Escolar University. After arriving in the United States, she took the NCLEX Exam and passed the License Practical Nursing program. Lina dedicated her path to a life of service as an LPN in Los Angeles, California while caring for her aging parents. She relocated to Hawaii where she continued on her devoted path of helping others by supporting St. Michael’s in Waialua where she served as a chambermaid for the father’s rectory.
Lina was a social butterfly and loved spending time with her friends, her family, and her dogs, Kimo & Coco.
She is survived by her two sisters, Lourdes G. Schuster and Virginia Garingan, her cousins, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless loyal friends.
Wake Service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 in the Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm followed the service 6:30 pm. Light refreshments will be served. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 10:00 am, the service at 11:30 am, followed by the burial at 12:30 pm. Please join Angelina’s family at the Mauka Dining Hall for lunch after the burial.
