Annie Silva Obituary
Annie Mahupeleulani Silva, 90, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 3, 2021 at her home in Mokuleia. She was born in Haleiwa, HI on March 12, 1930 to Daniel and Annie Hookala. Known as an avid fisherwomen, Annie was often found on a boat with her brothers pulling up fish, Kona crab, and tako. She served the Waialua and Haleiwa community as a school bus driver for 43 years, completing her last run on March 10, 2000. Annie is survived by her husband of 71 years, Henry “Heine”; sons Henry “Heine Boy” (Emma), Dennis “Sluggo” (Regina “Jayne”), Daniel “Daddy-O” (Janell), and daughter Stacey; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; brothers Jimmy (Sachi) Hookala, Charlie Hookala, sister Julia “Juju” Hirayama and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
