Anthony Roy Baccay's Obituary
Anthony Roy Baccay also known as "Roy" or "Tony" passed away on April 16, 2026 at the Queens Medical Center, Wahiawa. He was born on August 19, 1950 in Santiago Isabela, Philippines to Germiniano and Amparo Baccay. He enlisted in the military soon after graduating from Waialua High School and retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sargeant, after 21 years of proud and dedicated service. After returning home to Hawaii, he continued working and was employed at City and County, Elderly Division servicing Kupuna (Elders) and their support team and retired after 21 years as a Community Supervisor.
He loved volunteering his time to Project Dana, an Interfaith Volunteer Program dedicated to supporting Kupuna (Elders) and their family caregivers.
As an avid University of Hawaii men's and women's vollyball fan, he looked forward to cheering them on by attending many games and watching them on TV. Roy was known for his selflessness and his kind heart; always being the best person he could be for his family, friends, community and everyone around him. He was soft- spoken and often let his actions speak more than his words. Most of all, he would always put everyone before himself. He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and the many who have had the opportunity to have known him.
Roy is survived by his beloved sister, Grace Baccay and Gretchen Lorenzo and extended family.
His celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Mililani Memorial, Mauka Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:00am-10:00am. Program and service to follow. Burial will be at the Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery at 2pm.
Roy will forever be in our hearts.
