Aurora Equila Dizon's Obituary
Aurora Equila Dizon, lovingly known as Auring, received her wings on December 22, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, at the age of 84. Born on September 3, 1941, in Aritao, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines, Aurora lived a life rooted in deep faith, quiet strength, and boundless love.
A devoted wife, mother of seven, and servant of the Lord, she touched countless lives with her wisdom, courage, humor, and unwavering compassion. In 1978, she immigrated to the United States with her husband, Godofredo, and their seven children, building a new life in Hawaiʻi.
Aurora worked for 25 years as a housekeeper at the Sheraton Waikiki, where her dedication, work ethic, and gentle spirit shone through until her retirement in 2004. Even after retirement, she remained active and social, often joining her Local 5 retirees for gatherings and events.
She was a proud U.S. citizen in 2019 and faced lung cancer with extraordinary bravery and faith, completing treatment in 2022—an enduring testament to her strength.
Aurora found joy in cooking, staying active and healthy, watching Filipino TV dramas/shows, and most of all, being surrounded by family. In her youth, she played softball, joined beauty pageants, and was crowned 1st Aritao Princess in 1957.
She is survived by her six children, ten grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a legacy that lives on.
