Aurora Leilani “Lani” Young, a beautiful soul, was born on Saturday, May 23, 1959, at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. From the start, she was surrounded by family who adored her and celebrated the joy she brought into their lives.
For more than 30 years, Lani dedicated herself to Children’s Medical Associates as a medical assistant. Her gentle presence comforted countless families, and she watched many of her young patients grow up, forming bonds that lasted far beyond their visits. Her coworkers were a cherished part of her life; they shared laughter, enjoyed many moments together, and loved her deeply, just as she loved them in return.
Lani lived with a playful, vibrant spirit and a sharp, sometimes sarcastic sense of humor that kept everyone laughing. Her contagious laugh could light up any room. She loved dancing hula, singing karaoke, exploring new places, and enjoying simple pleasures like butterflies and cotton candy. She also spent her life caring for others, always ready to help and support those in need. Her energy, humor, and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
But most importantly, Lani loved being with her family and loved ones above all else. She found her greatest joy in spending quality time with them, cooking, going out to eat, spoiling her grandchildren with trips to the movies, shopping, and simply being together. Being surrounded by those she loved was what made her happiest.
Her services will be held at Mililani Memorial Park Mauka Chapel on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m., followed by the service at 8:30 a.m., and burial at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow for family and friends to gather and celebrate her life.
Lani ran the good race and fought the good fight, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion to all who knew her. She cherished her family and friends, and they loved her just as deeply in return. As she takes her final journey into the arms of Our Lord, we imagine her spirit soaring like a butterfly, joyful and free, smiling as she begins this new adventure and saying, “Let’s hit the road, Jack.”
