Avelina Agbayani Obituary
Avelina Teofilo Agbayani, 90, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on July 2, 2022. She was born on May 5, 1932 in Magsingal, Philippines.
In 1955 she was crowned as "Her Majesty Queen"; Most Popular Mother of the Year; San Isidro member of Filipino Woman's Business Club since 1985; Crowned Miss Kimona 1992; owner of Filipiniana Cafe from 1966-1992 (30 years) which was one of the first three original Filipino restaurants in Hawaii. She loved cooking, especially for family, and always made sure they had enough to eat. Avelina also loved watching Filipino Boxers at the Blaisdell Arena. She helped a lot of her family members come to Hawaii from Philippines providing Affidavit of Support and was a member of Our Lady of the Mount church since 1974. Avelina just celebrated her 90th Birthday this past May.
She is survived by her daughters, Leonora A. (Greg) Agustin, Teresa A. (Joseph Guillory) Delacruz, Erlinda A. (Jeffrey) Pedro, Leyticia A. (Ronald) Corpuz, and Miriam A. Gagne; son, Henaro T. (Christine Kay) Agbayani, Jr.; sisters, Leonora T. Sensano and Agrifina T. (Victor) Ignacio; 21 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.
Avelina was preceded in death by her husband, Henaro Delacruz Agbayani; daughter, Virginia Agbayani; brother, Warlito Teofilo; sisters, Conception Ignacio and Susanna Agbayani.
Wake Services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:30 pm and Service at 6:30 pm. Mass Services to be held the next day, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Our Lady of the Mount Church. Program starts at 9:30 am and Mass 10:30 am. Burial will take place at Valley of The Temples Memorial Park at 2:00 pm.
