Barbara H. Sasahara's Obituary
Barbara Hamayo Sasahara - Age 90 of Aiea, HI, passed away February 16, 2026. Born May 22, 1935, in Honokaa, HI, and raised in Wahiawa, Oahu, she was a retired bookkeeper and an accountant for Sears Roebuck & Co. She became a real estate agent after her retirement with Sears.
She is survived by her son Stephen Young (Sheryl), daughters Cheryl Yamaguchi (Jun) and Roxanne Young (Keith Miyamoto), daughter in law Kehli Akagi, step-daughter Sherie Bronson (Ed); grandkids: Melanee, Justin, Kaz, Timothy, Tiana, Jolee, Noa and Kamalani; sister Jean Hamada (Eugene Okino), sister in laws Shirley (Hamada), Catherine (Hamada), and Elaine (Hamada), and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband Harry Sasahara, sons Bryan (Young) and Roger (Young,) parents Nobuo and Ichino Hamada, brothers Nobuichi, Albert “Shogo”, Robert and Hiromi, and sister Masayo “Rose” Mahi.
A Public Visitation will be held from 9:30 am-10:30 am, with funeral services 10:30 am to 11:30 am, Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel.
