Becky Pualani Dalere, known affectionately as Pualani to her friends and family, passed away on July 10, 2024. Born on November 2, 1943, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Pualani was a beacon of light and joy throughout her 80 years.
A proud graduate of Roosevelt High School, Pualani's life was characterized by her love for her native Hawaiian culture, particularly her passion for the enchanting melodies of Hawaiian music and her exceptional talent for gardening. Her beautiful garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit, and it became a place of peace and beauty for all who visited.
Pualani's life was a harmonious blend of love for her family. Her heart found its perfect match in her husband, Alfredo Dalere, with whom she shared a life with, married for 58 years, filled with laughter, music, and an unconditional love that extended to their children: Jolynn Ching (Tui), Alfred Dalere (Jay), and Joann Dalere (Kalani). Pualani's legacy continued to flourish through her cherished grandchildren: Jaylynn Makamae Ching (Gary), Devin Ching (Kaydee), Isaiah Dalere-Poepoe, Deigalynn Ching (Jarvis), Isaac Poepoe (Lei), Israil Dalere, Ishmael Dalere (Kailee), Samuel Ching, and Taylor Queenie Ong (Charles), as well as her adored 12 great-grandchildren.
She was a sister held in high esteem by her siblings, Florence Hintakutan (Smiley) and James "Kimo" Lake (Lois), who will remember her as a guiding light in their lives. Pualani's generous and wise nature made her a pillar in her family, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.
Pualani's life was a melody composed of love, care and generosity, and her presence was a comforting embrace to those in need. She was a woman of wisdom, often sought after by friends and family for advice and support. Her generous spirit knew no bounds, and she was always ready to give of herself to ensure the happiness and well-being of others.

Becky Pualani Dalere’s services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Mililani Mortuary, Mauka Chapel, Viewing will begins at 6PM with service to follow at 7PM, Mahalo.
