Our Dad came to Hawaii in 1968 with the plan of earning enough money to bring us over and to fulfill his dream of a better life for all of us. After working multiple jobs, he was able to bring us over in 1969.
He started working at Halekulani Hotel as a busboy and eventually became a waiter. His job as a waiter gave him much joy and one of the things that he was really good at was making customers laugh. He liked making “pantastic” to his customers. Dad was a hard worker and a funny guy. He earned multiple top employee awards while working at Halekulani Hotel first then at Hawaiian Waikiki Beach Hotel. He retired in 2000. Dad traveled a lot with Mom, and he took us fishing all the time when we were little. Dad was also an avid photographer. He gave us lots of memories with his pictures.
He loved us all very much. He loved God and he always prayed especially at family gatherings. He loved his wife Paciencia “Mercy” very dearly. Mom passed away in 2013, and now they are reunited in heaven enjoying God’s presence. We Love you Dad, and we miss you just as much as we miss Mom.
