Benjamin Regal Apostol's Obituary
Benjamin Apostol Obituary
My beloved husband Benjamin Regal Apostol was born in Balogo Oas Albay on March 14 1934. He moved with his family to Manila, Pasay City Philippines when he was in grade school. Later he graduated from high school at Arellano University in Pasay City. Ben then attended college for 2 years at Feati Institute of Technology in Manila where he pursued a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He did not finish his degree because he was asked to join his family in Anchorage Alaska in 1962. While in Alaska Ben kept in touch with me as he was getting his footing in his new home. Ben’s 1st job was in a chinese restaurant as a dish washer/cook’s assistant. He was often told by his employer “Ben cook the lice.” In 1964 Ben was hired as a cook for Northwest Airlines flight kitchen. During that time in 1965 Ben wrote to my father to ask for my hand in marriage. The following year on January 2nd 1966 we were married in the Philippines. Later that year I joined Ben in Alaska and we soon started a family. We had 4 sons together, they were all born in Anchorage Alaska. In 1976 we got an opportunity to move to Honolulu Hawaii where Ben continued as a Equipment Service Technician for Northwest Airlines. Ben retired after 35 years of service. In our time together we enjoyed travelling the world, ballroom dancing & singing in the choir at St Elizabeth church.
My dearest Ben, look forward to seeing you again, Love Esmin….
