On Thursday, February 11, 2021, Carlos Maluyo, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away at the age of 93 years. He was born on December 4th, 1927 in Barangay Valdez, Marcos Ilocos Norte, Philippines and served in the United States Marines. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal (wounded in the Korean War in 1952), Korean Service Medal with two stars, United Nations service medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1959 and later became a Painter Rough for the Honolulu Painting Company where he was awarded Painter of the Year for three years. Carlos will be forever remembered by his wife and best friend Veronica, their children, Carlito, Matilda Nellie (Tay) Enos, Edgar (Angie) and Betina (Paul) McGhiey, his dear grandchildren, Nicole (Bryan), Chantelle (Jovic), Kelli, Antonio Joseph, Paul Jr., Asia, and Bethany, his precious great-grandchildren, Zealand, Amelia, Sylene, and great-grandson expected soon, and by his brothers and sisters Tomas (Trinidad), Rosario Valencia, Lolita Revilla, Benita Danao, and Bonifacio (Elvira). Carlos will also be forever remembered by his numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
