Charlotte Gusler Obituary
Charlotte Sanae Gusler (Yoshimoto)
January 21, 1950 – December 16, 2024
Charlotte Sanae Gusler (Yoshimoto), age 74, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Sarah and Lawrence Yoshimoto, Charlotte was a woman of warmth, wisdom, and unwavering compassion. She grew up in Kaimuki alongside her siblings, Marilyn and Nathan, and attended Farrington High School before earning a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of the Pacific in Oregon.
For many years, Charlotte worked at Foremost Dairies until its closure in 2004. Never one to stop growing, she earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chaminade University in 2005, dedicating her career to helping others overcome challenges and find hope. Her passion for learning and service led her to embark on the path toward a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy, embracing what would have been the next chapter in her journey to support and uplift others.
Charlotte’s spirit was a radiant blend of warmth, laughter, and fierce determination. She had an extraordinary ability to offer guidance, drawing from her deep understanding of human nature. She stood firmly for justice, championed free speech, and had a heart that never hesitated to help the less fortunate. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she was a steadfast friend, confidante, and advocate.
She had a deep love for animals and was a devoted supporter of animal welfare. Her joy was found in the simple moments, conversations filled with laughter, the comfort of family, and the happiness of those she loved.
Above all, Charlotte’s greatest pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her sons, John and Andrew; her dear friend and former husband, Willard "Bill" Gusler; her siblings, Marilyn and Nathan Yoshimoto; and her five cherished grandchildren. To them, she was a source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love.
Charlotte’s laughter, insight, and boundless generosity will be deeply missed, but her legacy of kindness and compassion will live on in the many lives she touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Charlotte’s life will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 98-1098 Moanalua Rd, Aiea, HI 96701, on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Hawaii Humane Society.
