Chastity Maye Dela Cruz, affectionately known as Chiqui to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2024, in Waipahu, HI. Born on October 30, 1979, in Honolulu, HI, Chiqui was a beacon of joy and kindness to all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of laughter, compassion, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. The beloved daughter of Domingo and Rina Dela Cruz, and cherished sister to Cheryl Dela Cruz, Chiqui grew up surrounded by the warmth and love of her close-knit family. Her formative years in Honolulu were filled with the vibrant culture of the island, which greatly influenced her passion for life and her love for her community. Chiqui's academic journey led her to Heald Business College, where she graduated with a degree in Travel/Tourism, a field that perfectly matched her adventurous spirit and love for people. Her education paved the way for her career as a customer service representative at United Airlines, where she was known for her unwavering patience, bright smile, and the ability to make any traveler's day better. Beyond her professional life, Chiqui was a woman of many interests and talents. She had an innate gift for bringing people together, whether it was through her infectious laughter or her thoughtful gestures. Her kindness and gentle demeanor were the hallmarks that defined her. Chiqui was also an avid fan of K-dramas, which she would often enjoy after a day of making the skies friendlier for passengers. She love daisies, tulips and the her favorite color was sky blue/ baby blue. Her greatest joy, however, was the time spent with her beloved dog, Hailey. Training and caring for Hailey brought a sense of peace and fulfillment to Chiqui's life, showcasing her nurturing nature. Her ability to connect with animals was just another facet of her multifaceted personality. Chiqui's presence was a light in the lives of her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was funny, always finding the humor in life's challenges, and kind, a gentle soul who approached each day with grace and gratitude. As the writer Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Chiqui made everyone feel loved, valued, and happy. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the countless stories and moments of joy she shared with those around her. Chiqui's spirit will continue to inspire and influence everyone she touched, and her legacy of love and laughter will endure. We bid farewell to Chiqui, a treasured member of our family and community, with heavy hearts filled with fond memories. As we celebrate her life, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on the lives of many. Chiqui, your light will forever shine in our hearts. Rest in peace dear Chiqui, until we meet again.
