Christina Elizabeth Scoville (Tasker)'s Obituary
Christina Elizabeth Scoville (Tasker)
September 1930 – September 9, 2025
Christina “Chris” Elizabeth Scoville, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away
peacefully in her sleep on September 9, 2025, on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, at the age of 95.
Born in September 1930 in Warrington, England, Chris grew up during the difficult years of
post global depression and World War II, experiences that shaped her humor, resilience, and
deep compassion. She met the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Scoville, Sr., an American GI
stationed overseas supporting the Berlin Airlift. The two married in 1951, and with courage
and devotion, Chris left her home and family behind to follow Jerry to the United States, with a
dream of a better life for themselves and family.
Together, Chris and Jerry raised five children and welcomed four grandchildren while setting
up households in three countries and several states as Jerry served in the U.S. Air Force.
Eventually, they made Hawai‘i their home. Chris found joy and community working in the
children’s department at Liberty House, where she built a loyal following of customers
spanning three generations.
Chris was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry, who passed in 2013. She is
survived by her children: Tina Clothier (Terry Cisco), Diane Scoville, Gerald Scoville, Jr.(Cara
Scoville), Bill Scoville (Lisa Scoville), and Marjorie Scoville (Ofa Ngatuvai); and her four
grandchildren
Chris lived a life filled with humor, grace, strength, and love. The family likes to imagine that in
the early hours of September 9th, Jerry was there waiting for her — that he woke her gently,
took her hand, and walked her home. After missing him for twelve long years, she is where
she belongs: with him, together again, beyond the edges of memory.
