Clyde Kitagawa Obituary
Clyde Takao Kitagawa passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2023. He was born n April 19,1958 the third child and only son to George and Mildred Kitagawa.
He was a graduate of Kamehameha School’s Class of 1976 and went on to attend the University of Portland where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He went to work at Far West Federal Bank in Portland as a Computer Operator and moved up to become a Production Control Supervisor. He returned to Hawaii in 1988 with his wife and son.
He worked for his father George at G.T. Kitagawa Painting. His father taught him all the tricks of the trade and Clyde eventually got his Contractors License and took over the business.
Clyde loved sports especially baseball as he played in Little League and Makule League. He also loved to coach his three sons in baseball and soccer. Many trips to the outer Islands, New York and Japan was due to baseball. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling to Las Vegas with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Maleen; sons, Duke (Chanel), Lyle (Nicole), Grant; mother, Mildred; sisters, Gail Ohta (Clyde), Lynn Kodama (Irv), Kris Neville (Raymond); grandsons, Zayden, Zeighn, Cru and Dash.
He will always be remembered for his generosity, loyalty, kindness and warm smile.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 9:30 am; and service to start at 10:30 am.
