Cora U. Tribiahn's Obituary
Cora Tribiahn Obituary
My mom passed from this life into the arms of our Lord last night. She was 89 years old.
My mom was the matriarch of our family, having survived numerous challenges throughout her life. She did the best she could to raise us, her children, as a single mom working multiple jobs to put food on our table and keep a roof over our heads. She encouraged us, admonished us, and disciplined us. She instilled a fighting spirit within us, which we carry to this day. She was tender-hearted towards her grandchildren, always anxious to hear the latest news about their lives. Her later years were spent in Hawaii with my sister, Melanie who served as her primary caregiver, where she experienced unconditional love, perhaps for the first time in her life. Though stubborn at times, her gratitude towards Mel and others whom she encountered was evident in quiet moments. Mom was well-loved within her local community, her Ohana, and she touched many loves. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by sons, Patrick (Denise) Almazar, Jay (Rose) Almazar, and Charles (Honey) Almazar; daughter, Melanie Almazar-Utu; brother, Jesus (Lita) Ubarro; sister, Priscilla (Orlando) Baclig; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Future services to be held.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Melanie Almazar-Utu to assist with arrangements.
