When Auntie Cynthia worked at the Ambassador Hotel, during the last half of the 60s, I was attending UH Manoa. She would always give me tons of shampoos and conditioners that the tourists would leave behind in the bathrooms. That, along with hundreds of those ubiquitous straw woven beach mats. I would pass all those things along to my cash-strapped college buddies. Needles to say, I was a good friend to lots of people thanks to Auntie Cynthia! Gotta love her generosity!
