Daniel Aikala, 88, of Waipahu, HI passed away on May 4, 2022 in Waipahu. He was born on July 25, 1933 in Maui, HI.
He is survived by his daughter, Vivian (Rick) Verdadero; son, Daniel (Malia) Aikala, Jr.; brothers, Martin Aikala and George Aikala; sisters, Augusta Plante, Lillian Rosa and Harriet Lindsey; 7 grandchildren, Jason, Richard, Malia, Anuhea, Blaze, Kinohi and Kahiapo; 13 great-grandchildren, Jascha, Jalyn, Chanson, Riana, Riah, Kyslyn, Kassidy, Kini, Kuulei, Kanai, Abrielle, Valerie and Luke.
Daniel was predeceased by his wife, Josefina Pino Aikala and daughter, MaryAnn Aikala.
Daniel was an avid golfer and enjoyed karaoke. He graduated from Lahainaluna High School on Maui, Class of 1953. He served and retired from the U.S. Army and also retired vice-president of The Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM).
Wake Services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at Mililani Mortuary Mauka Chapel. Visitation begins at 5:00 pm, Service at 6:00 pm.
Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery, Kaneohe.
