DENISE KAUHIONAMAUNA KIA RAMENTO, 64, of Pearl City, Hawaii, passed away on August 8th, 2017. She was born in Honolulu, HI. She was Kumu Hula of Halau Hula O Kauhionamauna of Waipahu, Oahu, and the original founder of the award winning Tahitian dance group, Heretama Nui. She is survived by her husband Jimmy Allen Ramento Sr., 5 sons Jimmy Allen (Michelle) Ramento Jr., Christopher Iokia Ramento, Francis Kawai (Jovelyn Marie) Ramento, Thomas Albert (Leah Milika'a) Kealoha Ramento, Major (Tiana Pahukoa)?Naeole Ramento, daughter Theresa Kauhionamauna (Nephi) Tehiva, 4 brothers Albert Ainoa Kia, Alwood Naeole Kia, Dennis Kia, Malcom Kia, 3 sisters Alberta Lample, Carolee "Doll" Aricayos, Nanette "Honey" Barton, and 18 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 23rd, 2017, at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church (1525 Waimano Home Rd, Pearl City, HI 96782) followed by mass at 11:00 am. Burial will be held, also on September 23rd, at 1:30 pm at Mililani Memorial Park & Mortuary. Aloha attire requested. Flowers are welcome.
