Dolores Co Adarme Uy, affectionately known as Dolly A. Uy, age 67 (one week before her 68th birthday), of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away on February 21, 2024. Her passing was unexpected and deeply saddening for her family and friends. She faced her diagnosis of stage 4 cancer with grace and positivity, demonstrating strength and resilience throughout her hospitalization. Dolly was born on February 27, 1956, in her cherished city of Manila, Philippines, to Angela and Juan Adarme. She was the youngest of three children, alongside her brothers Jose Adarme and Mauro Adarme. Dolly's pursuit of education led her to graduate from Far Eastern University with a Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, and she achieved the esteemed title of Certified Public Accountant in 1982. On May 13, 1991, Dolly married Enrique "Henry" Uy and together they embarked on a journey to Honolulu, Hawaii, where she began to build a life and career alongside her husband. Dolly was an exemplary wife, friend, and individual, embodying qualities of unconditional love, strength, and enerosity. She cared deeply for her family, including her husband, siblings, in-laws, and extended family, as well as countless others in her community. Throughout her career, Dolly worked as an Accountant at several companies, including the Hawaii Nurses Association, Hawaiiana Management, Hilton Grand Vacations, Actus Lend Lease/Lend Lease Americas , JTSI and Cathy Kai Jewelry. She was known for her big heart, vibrancy, and quiet strength, always welcoming others with open arms and a warm smile. Dolly's love extended to her canine companions, Buddy, Precious, Princess, and Chiquita, whom she cherished deeply after the passing of her husband Henry in 2021. Dolly is survived by her brothers Jose and Mauro, her sister-in-law Remy, nieces Abigail, Glynis, and Daisy Lou, as well as her brother-in-laws Federico Uy, Angel Uy, and Norberto Uy, sister-in-laws Perlita Uy Cristobal and Cresencia Uy, and numerous nieces, nephews from her husband Henry's family and best friend Lutchie, Her sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, neighbors and community, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A Catholic Blessing will be held at Punchbowl Cemetery, National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, 2177 Puowaina Drive, Honolulu, HI 96813, on March 22, 2024, at 2:30 pm, followed by the Funeral Service will take place at 3:00 pm. She will be interred alongside her husband Henry who loved her dearly. The family appreciates your love and support during this difficult time.
