Dolores Plateros Boncales, 91, Aiea, Hawaii, passed away on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 1, 1933 in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Dolores was the daughter of the late Mauro Plateros and Isabel (Relampagos) Ganade. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Teofilo “Pete” V. Boncales.
Dolores is survived by her children, Pamela J. Soque (Maurice), Peter J.A. Boncales, Sr., Damien A. Boncales (Melissa Masicampo), David A Boncales (Andrea), and Angela D. Boncales (Rebecca Carcabuso); siblings, Sister Marie Christine Plateros, Elisa Ganade, Theodoro Ganade (Yvonne), and Teresa Ganade; grandchildren, Christina A. Boncales, Kirstie K. Pacupac (Steven), Peter J.A. Boncales, Jr., Theo-Den A. A. Boncales, Maurice B. Soque, Jr., Tazmann Cui-Boncales, Justin Boncales, Joey Boncales, and Isabella Soque; 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brothers Abondio Plateros, Crispo Plateros, and Remundo Ganade; and sisters Conchita Castillo and Pasita Batula.
She was a graduate of Saint Francis School. Dolores was very active at her parish, Saint Elizabeth Church, in Aiea. She was a catechist, a former Den Mother for the Saint Elizabeth Cub Scout Pack (alongside her husband, Pete, who was the Scoutmaster for the Boy Scout Troop), volunteered on the prayer chain, and attended Bible study classes.
Dolores was a homemaker while her 5 children were younger, then returned to the work force when they grew up. She loved taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren; and she also loved to travel.
Warm and loving, always caring and giving, Dolores was the matriarch of the family and ensured that the bond remained strong. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Funeral Mass service will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Church, Aiea.
Visitation begins at 9:30 am and service at 10:30 am.
Inurnment will be held on the following Tuesday, Jun 10, 2025, 10:30 am at Mililani Memorial Park Cemetery.
