Donald Yamada Obituary
Donald Hideyuki Yamada, 92, of Pearl City, Hawaii passed away peacefully at home on March 24, 2024. He was born in Waialua, Oahu. Donald graduated from Waialua High School in 1949, and was self-employed at Yama's Fender Shop in Wahiawa for over 30 years.
Donald was survived by his daughter, Ann (William) Quinn; daughter, Shirley (Curtis) Nishimura; Grandchildren, Daniel (Shana) Quinn, Miya (Royce) Quinn, Mahina Quinn, Lauren (Chad) Medeiros, Taryn (Kyle) Haraguchi and Ryan Nishimura; Great Grandchildren Tanner, Taylor, Tyson and Taytum Quinn, Jett and Kaliya Concepcion, Lily and Nohealani Medeiros and Waio'li Haraguchi.
Donald enjoyed bowling. He bowled in multiple leagues at Leeward Bowl, for over 45 years. Whenever he bowled well, he would give his family a share of his winnings from the jackpots he won. He made many lifelong friends there, and even traveled on tours with his wife Ruth, and some of his close friends. Donald was a hard worker and perfectionist who emphasized the value of doing a good job. He taught his daughters the importance of family and helping each other out, as well as others in need. He was soft-spoken, patient and kind; well-liked by his friends and loved by his family.
Memorial Services for Donald will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at the Mililani Mauka Chapel.
Visitation begins at 5:30 pm and Service at 6:30 pm.
