The Legacy of Dorothy “Dottie” Aquino Tongpalan
Dorothy Aquino Tongpalan “Dottie”, 84 of Waianae gained her wings on January 11, 2021 in Aiea, Oahu. She was born in Wahiawa, Oahu. She was an alumni of Farrington High School ?54 and retired as an Educational Assistant at Nanakuli High and Intermediate and the Hawaii Department of Education. She was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Waianae. In her free time, she loved to bowl, sew, dance hula and the jitterbug. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend to many. She is survived by her daughters Doreen T. Koruan, Bernadette N. Baggerly and Stephanie Tongpalan; brothers Fred Abad and Wayne Aquino (Diane), sisters Geraldine Herbert, Linda Blaquera (Jordan) and Marilyn “Nani” Ewasko (Charles); grandchildren Francine B. Aki (David), Jessica N. Yiu Lin (Jared), Corey Z. H. H. Koruan, Melissa Koruan, Lcpl Dylan T. Tongpalan, Nicole K. Baggerly; great-grandchildren Mikayla A. Viliamu, Kaitlynn K. Costa-Viliamu, Kelsea K. Viliamu, Nyah A. Aki, Noah K. Aki, and Joseph P. K. Yiu Lin.
