Earl N. Young's Obituary
Earl Young was a graduate of the Aiea High School, class of 1979. He graduated from the University of Hawaii and was an avid sports enthusiast and supporting alum. He worked for the State of Hawaii, Department of Health, where he helped many individuals to better their lives until his retirement in 2025. His employment also allowed him to become a highly respected member of the HGEA and to participate in many contract negotiations.
One of Earl’s greatest love was to collect and grow cacti and succulents. He had a vast and varied collection of cacti and enjoyed sharing photos on social media.
Through it all was his faith in his church, Waimalu Grace Brethren, which after moving to Waipio, became Grace Fellowship Hawaii. His participation, along with his mother, who has also passed, kept them active with the community.
He is survived by his brother, Brian (Marilyn) Young, sister Kathy (Keith) Fukumoto, two nephews, a niece, three grand nephews, one grand niece and his pet turtles.
