Eduardo Timoteo Dona's Obituary
Eduardo Dona Obituary
Eduardo Timoteo Dona or ‘Eddie’ as many people called him, passed away at the age of 62 after his battle with Stage IV Pancreatic (Neuroendocrine) Cancer in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his wife and daughter on September 28, 2021.
Born on February 2, 1959 in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Alejandro and Luciana Dona. He was the eldest son and had six siblings. He spent the majority of his childhood working on his family’s plantation fields until he later moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in January 1987 with his parents and younger siblings, Estefania and Alex.
From the very beginning, Eduardo was a dedicated and hardworking person. He worked at numerous places such as Woolworth, Max’s Gym, and Ocean Resort Hotel doing maintenance and housekeeping work. He worked at Kaiser Permanente Hawaii (primarily stationed at the Moanalua Medical Center) in their Environmental Services Department for almost 10 years before deciding to do an early retirement after being diagnosed with cancer.
Eduardo was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic (Neuroendocrine) Cancer in November 2018. Over the years, his cancer has spread to his liver, lungs, brain, bone and other areas of his body. He has tried numerous treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy. His cancer became increasingly aggressive until there were no longer any treatments left for him to do. He always believed in God’s timing and plan for him until the very end. He fought hard and never gave up.
Throughout his life and cancer journey, he remained strong, brave, humble and faithful. He always put God first and seeked strength and courage from his loved ones.
He will always be remembered as a generous, patient, kind and big-hearted person who was always willing to help others. He always put his loved ones first and did everything in his power to ensure that everyone he loved lived a comfortable and joyful life filled with laughter. Eduardo loved to make others laugh and could always lighten the mood in any room with his humor. He also loved to cook! He would cook every day and all of his meals always turned out great! His recipes and home cooked meals will surely be missed! In his free time, he also liked to watch sports (primarily football and basketball), watch movies, go to the beach, drive around the island and spend time with his loved ones.
He is survived by his wife, Estephany A. Dona; his daughter, Edelyn A. Dona; his brother, Alex Dona; his sisters, Virginia Diaz, Marina Supan, Marcelina Tigolo, Estefania Adaoag.
