Frances, Karen and Mae......I am so sad to learn of Ed's passing. We met back in 1968 In Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division and have always stayed in touch over these almost 50 yrs. I really thought that he would beat the cancer....he was a tough, little guy. I will never forget his smile....Ed always lightened up the mood, no matter how difficult or stressful the time.
I loved him and will always the memories we had in Nam and the times me and my family visited with him in Hawaii and his visit to Boston..... Although most of our communications were by pen.....and more recently email....we stayed in touch and made each other smile. It was because of Ed, when we last met in Hawaii that my kids wanted to know why Ed had a Veteran plate and I didn't....well it goes without saying, once I returned home I applied for and have had a Veteran Plate since then.. Every time I look at my license plate I think back to our last visit with him.
Wow...I could go on and on...but I really am upset right now and must stop writing.
Karen thanks so much for your note....I was just thinking about Ed this weekend said I must call to see how he is doing...and then I received your note in today's mail. My email address is: [email protected] and my home number is 781.792.0011...please forward me your email address and home number so that I may contact you.
