Eileen Hayase Obituary
On Monday, August 3, 2020, Eileen Hayase, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend passed away at the age of 80. Eileen was born in Billings, Montana on January 6, 1940, the third of four children born to Geraldine and John Warner. At age 18, after growing up in Great Falls, Eileen entered the sisters of Humility of Mary convent in Iowa, where she served for 10 years. While in Iowa, She graduated from Marycrest College and taught in elementary schools in both Iowa and Arizona. She moved to Hawaii in 1969, where her sister, Mary Kay Sullivan, had settled. Eileen lived in Honolulu and began teaching at Kapalama Elementary School. She married Malvin Teruji Hayase of Wailuku, Maui, on June 19, 1971. They raised their four children in Mililani. Eileen was a dedicated homemaker, teacher and Avon salesperson for many years of her life. She enjoyed tennis with her friends, theater, traveling, good books, and time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Mel, four children- her sons Dale, Neil, and Glen Hayase and her daughter, Lynn Jax, their spouses, and 10 grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Aug 3 at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel with visitation to 10:00am and service at 11:00. Memorial Mass will be held at St. John Apostle and Evangelist Church in Mililani on Aug. 2 at 11:00am
