Eleanor 'Ely' Paulmino's Obituary
Eleanor 'Ely' Paulmino Obituary
ELEANOR 'ELY' PAULMINO, 90 of Honolulu passed away on September 29, 2018 in Honolulu.
Ely was a deeply compassionate, caring, and loving person. She was a devoted mother, wife, sister, and friend to many. We all feel so fortunate to have been touched by her and we are honored to share her story with you and to celebrate her life together.
Ely was born on ‘Oahu, but spent much of her childhood in the Philippines. When her younger sister Rose reached adulthood, the two of them relocated to Okinawa in search of employment with the U.S. government. It was here that she met her beloved husband Paul, who she was destined to spend the rest of her 69 years of life with.
In 1974 Ely and her family moved to Honolulu where she continued her work as a switchboard operator with the Federal Government. Although she was on the phone all day for work, she made a loving point of calling her family members every evening of her life, to make sure everyone was ”ok and loved”. One of her favorite pastimes while living in Okinawa was playing mahjong with her friends until the wee hours of the morning, surely making them all laugh with her jovial nature. In her retirement years, Ely and her husband Paul loved to go dancing and make frequent trips to Las Vegas! Ely loved family gatherings and would arrange house parties to bring her loved ones together in celebration. Of course we all miss her and we treasure this time to come together and carry on her legacy of celebration with stories and remembrance of her beautiful heart.
We look forward to celebrating with you the life of the shining light, compassionate heart, and loving woman we all hold so dear, Eleanor Paulmino who lives on in the love in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her spouse Guillermo 'Paul' R. Paulmino; sons Cesar Paulmino, Arturo (Liddy) Paulmino, Rudolfo Paulmino, Reynaldo Paulmino; daughter Rebecca Paulmino; sisters Violet Medina, Constance Medina Refuerzo, Conchita Medina Eva, Aurora Adora; grandchildren Jackielyn Paulmino, Adrlanne Paulmino.
