Mrs. Erlinda Dichoso Juan of Mililani, Hawaii passed away peacefully on August 1, 2023. She was 77 years old.
Erlinda was born on March 10, 1946 in Navotas, Laoag City, Philippines. She achieved a B.S. in Elementary Education from Divine Word College of Laoag City. She immigrated to Hawaii in 1977 where she, along with her parents and her seven siblings have laid down roots and built a beautiful life for generations to come. For over 20 years, she worked as a seamstress at Reyn Spooner, a popular brand known for its classic and vibrant aloha shirts and attire.
Erlinda was a dedicated sister, wife, mother, grandmother. She embraced her role as “Auntie/Mama Linda” and was well-respected by her entire family. She loved to shop, she had a very classy sense of style and was always very well put together. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed serving and entertaining guests in her home. She was known as the family’s personal tailor/seamstress, mentor, and leader. She advocated for what she believed in and gave the best advice. She loved to travel and frequently visited her hometown in the Philippines. She also spent many of her retirement years following her daughter and her family to several U.S. Air Forces bases in the country to help care for her two grandchildren.
Erlinda is survived by her husband of 39 years, Remigio Juan; daughter, Jennifer Shin (Jonathan); grandchildren, Trislynn Jayde J. Shin and Tysen Jon J. Shin; siblings, Lilia Dichoso, Fred (Noemi) Dichoso, Wilma (Vicente) Antonio, Edith (Francisco) Alegria, Jean (Cirry) Locquiao, and Glory (Edward) Lamug; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Felipe and Josefa Dichoso and sister, Nora Domingo (Emerito).
Erlinda left behind a legacy of hard work, confidence and strength. She has made a powerful impact in the lives of her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren. May she finally rest in peace with the Lord in heaven.
