Eugene “Gene” Alexander Todd, Jr.

Eugene “Gene” Alexander Todd, Jr., of Kapolei, Hawaiʻi, passed away on January 13, 2026, at the age of 59.
Born on December 14, 1966, in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, Gene was the beloved son of Darnell Yogi and Eugene Todd. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend whose steady presence and warm spirit touched many.
Gene dedicated more than 30 years of service as a groundskeeper at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam and later at the University of Hawaiʻi, where he served as Grounds Supervisor. He took great pride in his work, helping maintain and beautify the places that serve the Hawaiʻi community.
Outside of work, Gene embraced the island lifestyle he loved. He enjoyed paddle boarding, kayaking, diving, riding his quads, and, most of all, spending quality time with his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of the outdoors, and deep commitment to those he loved.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Vera Kim-Todd; daughters Kailyn and Jaelyn; and his cherished furry son, Makoa. He is also survived by his sister, Vernet Young (Kevin). He was preceded in death by his brother, Derek Todd.
Gene’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
