FALEULU ALASI MATA'UTIA Obituary
FALEULU ALASI MATA'UTIA, 90, of Honolulu, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on February 4, 2022. He was born in American Samoa.
Mr. Mata'utia is survived by his Sons, Herman Mata'utia, Louis (Donetta) Mata'utia and Anthony Mata'utia; Daughters, Elizabeth (I'u) Mata'utia-Pasi, Victoria (La Talalotu) Mata'utia,, Josephine (Sosiua) Vaivao and Jen (Monica) Mata'utia-Mauia; Sister, Luisa Shafer; 20 Grandchildren and 35 Great-Grandchildren.
Faleulu Alasi Mata'utia was a devoted member of the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, serving as Eucharistic Minister, Choir Member, Lector, Usher, and as part of the team that brought the Eucharist to those who were infirm and incarcerated.
.Faleulu Alasi Mata'utia was also a Veteran and Retiree of the United States Army, serving in both the Korean War and Vietnam.
Services for Mr. Mata'utia will be held at the Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa, 712 N, School Street, Honolulu, HI 96817, on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am, followed by burial at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
