Fausto Grado, 83, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii passed away on January 21, 2024. He was born on August 1, 1940, in Waialua, Hawaii. He was a proud graduate of St. Louis College (now known as St. Louis School), Class of 1958, where he was a standout baseball player, made lifelong friends and was always proud to be part of the “Brotherhood”. He continued his education, as well as his amazing baseball career, at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. In 1961, he was selected to the Hawaii Baseball All-Star Team which competed in a series of games with the San Francisco Giants, whose roster included Willie Mays. He retired from the University after 27 years of State service as the Director of College of Continuing Education. He was a member of the University of Hawaii Letterwinners Club, National University Education Association, Pearl City Rainbow Elks #2669, St. Louis Alumni Association, Ewa Beach Jaycees, Ewa Beach and Halawa Little Leagues. He enjoyed golfing, coaching his grandsons Little League Baseball teams, watching UH sports and Family Feud. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; children Milton, Sr. (Tracelyn), Michele Doane (Gary), Brian (Jazzereen), and Kristen; 10 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren. He is also survived by brother Michael of Arizona, sister Carol Shackelfurd of California and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Meliton and Bonifacia Pocut Grado, brother Marcial and sister Epifania “Penny” Ballesteros. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Mililani Mortuary Makai Chapel. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. and service begins at 9:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Mililani Park Cemetery.
