Feliza Batara Obituary
FELIZA G. BATARA, 96 of Waipahu, Hawaii, passed away August 22, 2020 in Waipahu. She was born in Pimentel, Batac, Ilocos Norte (pka Cubol). She was preceded in death by her husband Alfredo C. Batara, and daughters Tessie Peralta and Fredeliza Batara. She is survived by her children, Virginia Racpan, Charley (Lethy) Batara, Chuleta Paco, Estrelita (Javier) Aceret, Leticia (George) Guerrero, Josephine (Steve) Foronda, Lee Batara, and Jessie (Madeline) Batara; 22 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Feliza arrived in Hawaii in 1974 with her children. At that time she briefly worked at Del Monte then preceedingly worked at the Hawaiian Tuna Cannery. After a few years or so she then went on to work for Maui Divers for a couple of years and soon after decided not to return to work following the untimely death of her daughter, Fredeliza, in August of 1979. Over the past four decades since, Feliza invested and dedicated all her time, effort, and love into being a full-time Wife, Mother, and Grandmother from which she authentically took pleasure in taking care of and looking after her children, as well as their children, and their children’s children. She committed her whole life and being into her entire family. She spent countless hours on a daily basis not only babysitting children in her own family but children from that of her neighbors as well. Everyone who has ever had the honor and pleasure of being graced by her presence predominantly knew her as Nana. She selflessly relished at the belief that family is the most significant priority in life and incessantly taught her generations of children the importance of such. In addition to her love for babysitting, she relentlessly and compassionately spent all of her days cooking three meals a day, washing her and her family’s clothes, cleaning, doing work around the house, teaching all of her children and grandchildren how to pretty much cook and clean the right way just like her, and entertaining her massive dynasty of a family during get togethers and celebrations. Her greatest success and happiness was and always has been family up until her very last breath. It is her legacy that she has left behind.
