Francis & Bob were very special to our Racquetball family. We met Francis and Bob in 1982 through Dan and Maggie Ho, who is also greatly missed. There were over 25 of us who played at sub base on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings. On Friday nights after playing we would all go to Pearl city Burger King and hang. Those were such great times and warm memories that will remain in my heart forever. Francis will be truly missed ❤️
I grew up with David and Derek, played Pearl City League with them. Mr Wong was their coach. Our journey continued on to Damien High School. Mrs Wong was a big supporter and attended all of their games. On our way to track practice, she always made it a point for us to stop by the school she worked at, where she would treat us lunch. She was such a kind hearted person. I will always remember her as the one who always cared and fed me.
I live a few houses away on the same side as Frances. Every now and then she would give me a little bag of her old bread broken in pieces because she knew I enjoyed feeding the birds. She also liked stringing crown flower to make a lei for me to wear to church. I will miss our chit chats and will forever remember my dear friend Frances.
My mother-in-law, Frances C. Wong welcomed me into her family with love and kindness, and I am forever grateful for the time we shared. One of my fondest memories was when she scolded me for throwing away the turkey and ham bone—because, of course, they were meant for making the best jook and Portuguese bean soup! She had a way of turning simple ingredients into something comforting and delicious, just like she filled our lives with warmth and love. I will miss her deeply, but her lessons, her love, and her recipes will live on in my heart and kitchen.
